No offense taken at all...thanksfor the reply. I tried to post a question about Solara production numbers and it apparently vanished into the nether regions, and I can't figure out how to post any photos....avatar or otherwise. I don't use an online file sharer, so I understand that part. I'd like to both contribute and gain more knowledge to/from these pages, but the navigation confuses the hell out of me.

did you accidentally save it as a draft? Click user control panel at the top right, once you're there click manage drafts on the left side.

Good suggestion about drafts, but not there. OK let's try this........does anyone know where I can find Solara production numbers by year/engine/transmission? I have a 2002 SE-V6 with 5-spd manual, leather, moon/sun, ABS, and JBL, which I know is fairly rare. How can I find actual procuction numbers?

BTW - I think the following statements are accurate, but please verify or dispute them:

No Solara convertibles were ever made with 5-spd manual gearboxes
2003 is the last year for the V6 with 5-spd combination
Hardtop 4 cyl with 5-spd manual were available until the end of production
No Solara with SLE trim was ever made with 5-speed

i dont know about production numbers, but the i believe the statements made are correct. also of the 4 cyl models, not all 4 cyl solara's have the same engine, i believe it was for the 02 model year they upgraded to a vvt engine for the 4 cyl, while the v6 remained the same (1mzfe) from 99-03.

edit: i used "search" to try and find your missing thread and came up with nothing. must have just been a glitch or something, i've never had a problem with posting or making threads on this forum. i see this thread showed up for you

Yes, that's what makes it so confusing. I posted (tried to anyway) the production number thread twice, but it never appeared!

I'm just trying to find out how rare the V6 with 5-spd combination really is. Sure, I can say "very" or "incredibly", but that doesn't really quantify anything!

True....but those on here are enthusiasts.........when trying to find one on the open market, there just aren't that many V6 5-spds......took me 6 months to find one that I liked out of a very small gene pool.

Just to add.....this Solara kinda reminds me of the old Jag XJ-6C and the Benz 300CE from the 1980s. Not in technology, but in basic approach...a larger-bodied sports-ish coupe with nice interior fitments.
