How to tell if Master Window Switch is working

Postby 3dvs » Tue Jul 26, 2011 2:08 pm

I just bought a 99 Solara and the drivers window will not go up or down but the passengers will. I thought for sure it was the master switch so I bought one from ebay and replaced the original. Same thing. The drivers window does not work but the passengers does. Before I take the door apart to check the regulator/motor does anyone know how test the switch to determine if it is good or not. Which pins on the harness should have power when the switches are pressed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks minig646. I will try it this weekend. My only question is, the schematic is for 4 windows and the solara only has 2, so I do not know if the pin numbers will be the same. Any comments.

The solara uses the same switches as the camry/avalon/es300. I'm not positive, but I bet the pins for the rear windows will just be missing on the solara.
