rear tail lights

I have a 2002 SLE coupe V6 and I was just wondering what are my options with the tail lights. In my opinion, they don't look that great at all compared to the 1st generation Solara's. Are the tail lights from the 1.5 gen and the 1st gen the same fitment? If not, what would you guys suggest I do with the tail lights? Possibly smoking them out?

If anybody has pictures of their 1.5 gen Solara, please post them up. I barely bought this white Solara and I'm trying to think of ideas to make it nicer. Thinking about the Kuminari lip kit and maybe dropping on some coilovers. The biggest problem are the rear tail lights. Please, somebody help meeee!

i agree the gen 1.5 tail lights are not that great.
i put gen 1 tail lights on my 02 sle coupe v6.

if you buy gen 1 tail lights that already have the bulbs and all then they just bolt right up.
if you do like me and buy cheap gen 1 tail lights off ebay, they do not come with bulbs and a very small mod has to be made to get one of the bulbs to go into place; one of the notches didnt line up right so i simply took a kitchen knife and made a slot where i needed it for the bulb to go in correctly and its been fine. also i believe the gen 1 uses amber turn signal bulbs and the gen 1.5 uses clear turn signal bulbs because the lens is amber. it is an easy upgrade overall. one last thing, it would be wise to use the search function of this forum to see if the topic in question has already been discussed, as this one has im sure more than once.

Ummm... I don't know if you saw it yet but I got Gen1 Tail Lights For Sale with the wire harness thing it comes with and bulbs.
