Code PO446 and P1153.. help!!

Postby supraguy17 » Mon Dec 06, 2010 10:20 pm

Driving home from work tonight and my check engine light came on. I stopped into Advanced Auto Parts on my way home and they said two codes got brought up. PO446 and P1153. They said if I wanted to find anything else out it'd be $102 for the test so, trying to save some dollars anybody on here know whats up?
When I start the car the check engine light stays on along with the traction control light saying TRAC OFF. While driving my ABS light will come on and start blinking but I just had all new brakes put on. The first two or three days after the brakes were on no light ever came on but as soon as the check engine light came on they always come on.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thank you! I'm bringing it to Toyota today to see roughly how much it'll be. Thanks again

before you go to the dealership, did you fill up the tank recently? I remember some people getting PO446 from not tightening the gas cap all the way. The PO1153 looks like it might just be the O2 sensor going out...and I wouldn't pay the dealership to replace that. Save yourself some money and replace it yourself

personally i wont bother with the 446, you wouldnt notice any driveability problems with that. the vent solenoid is a normally open vent and is only use to test your evaporative emission system to see if it holds pressure.

the O2 sensor being sensor one, yes it more than likely will cause problems once you go into closed loop operation. Or if the sensor is giving really bad readings it may send it into open loop again and use set fuel trims, which can cause rich or lean conditions
