Shifter problem?

Shifter problem?

Postby mig0s » Mon Sep 06, 2010 6:42 pm

I've searched a little bit but all topics related to shifter are the TWM short shifters...

It's been happening since I got the car, when I'm shifting up, sometimes it is really hard to get to a gear and sometimes it doesn't get in the gear would also make a really loud noise, like I've put the car on reverse while running... Anyways it is really hard to shift sometimes. Is it my clutch or something?

Thanks

i would first check the tranny oil level... if that is good, maybe its your synchro... i would see a mechanic for an estimate and go from threre

how does your clutch feel? and slippage? does the pedal feel stiff, im having the same problem with the gears are sometimes hard to go in, but my first guess is my clutch since its going out already.

Yeah the pedal is hard and stiff... but there's no slipping at all. I'm guessing it's my clutch too but since it's not slipping I'll wait for next spring to change them.

yeah it could possibly be the clutch, how does it grab, do you feel the clutch engaging twords the top where you have to let go the clutch almost the whole way then the car starts rolling?
