weird probelm going on

Ok so for a while now i was geting this clicking noise comin from the right side of my car then i found out that my axle boot ripped and it leaked all the grease. I thought the clicking came from the bearing being dry and the axle was ready to go, so last weekend i installed a brand new axle but the clicking is still there. Its at times when i take off i hear a loud click coming from under there or when i shift to second i hear it. Dont know what it could be, what do you guys think?

hmm i read it kinda quick but its when u get on it and shift to 2nd? is it coming from the shifter? possibly something to do with the trans or shifter linkage or anything?

Hmmm i was thinking the tranny too, but i dont know. Its not all the time its at times when i take off normal i hear this loud click sound and when i shift to second i hear it as well.

or lets say im in any gear at high rpm's, then i left off for a bit, when i get back on it i hear it.

motor mount or trans mount somewhere? u figure it only does it when the motor jerks back and forth right? maybe its ur s/c, u should just give that to me

Does your gas pedal stick/stiff when you first step on the gas? Ive got the same thing, as well as the gas pedal. I also thought it was a mount.

Unless its my front mount, because the back mount is gregs custom wich gives the motor no play back there.
And no my gas pedal doesnt do what yours does.

jk jk =P idkk maybe trans mount? loose nut under the center console lol, i dropped a bolt from my radio down there and now whenever my sub hits a low beat or my stupid exhaust starts rumbling my car i hear it rattle.. i wanna get a magnet down there.

If it's just a single loud click (versus a constant click like there's rock in the tread of the tire)
then I think it's probably just be gear lash in the transmission. You can hear the teeth click against
one another as the load changes (letting off at high rpm) or when sudden load is applied
(the 1-2 shift is notoriously the hardest on the transmission). I would say gear lash, caused by
normal wear is your culprit.

Maybe not. It could still hold up for a long time. Most of the gears are probably fine.
Like I said the 1-2 shift is notoriously harsh, so that wears out first.
But yeah, in the long-term the transmission will need an overhaul or replacement.

gotcha! might as well get an LSD when i do the change.
