Replacing Struts

As far as the closest OEM replacement for struts, what are a few that you would recommend? KYB, Monroe?

Thanks,

Ross

I have the Monre Sensa-Track's.
They are ok, but when I get ready to replace them and I dont get CO's.
I'll prolly install the KYB's.

If your NOT gona lower and/or shread some corners then I would go with the Monroes. Just as good as stock, I say better!

If you ARE gona lower it, then go with the KYB's

Just to save some costs I'm thinking of just replacing the struts and keeping the springs, the car has 120 K on it and I don't really want to drop more than 500 dollars on this in parts. I have a friend with a shop doing the install.

Monroe would be solid, but Tokicos are still my bread and butter.

Monroe are going to be the closest to OEM, IMO. I don't know who actually made the OEM struts on the Solara. I know Bilstein made the TRD struts, but I'm not sure about the stock ones. I would say:

OEM- Monroe
Lowering with a softer ride- KYB
Lowering with a stiffer ride- Tokico

Any of those combos is still going to ride pretty soft, even with lowering springs. It won't be anything that will break your back like a set of coilovers might be. I will say though that I just replaced a blown strut on my beater gen 3 Camry with a KYB strut, and it was only like $60 from The Tire Rack- which I thought was pretty cheap.
