Pre cut tints vs auto shop tints?

Postby __KINGPIN__ » Mon Aug 17, 2009 3:08 pm

auto shop tints are like 150- 200 bux

whereas pre cut from ebay are like 30-40

are the pre cut worth it?

Installation and warranty are the biggest difference.

for sure... i see on the road all the time people with their windows looking like it got boils all over it. professional tint has a lifetime warranty usually against fading and air bubbles.

think about it like this.. it's like buying sunglasses for your entire car. you can spend 150 bucks on a nice quality pair, or get the $10 ones at the stand in your local mall (your 40 dollar diy tints).

I just got mine done last week and thus far its been flawless

Tinting can be a tough job, even for the pros. I've had reputable shops do bad installs, which is why many offer lifetime warranties. I'm all for DIY, but this is one job I'll never tackle.

I'm gonna go pre-cut when I tint my headlights and taillights, but I'll leave the actual window tinting to a professional.

this site has headlight covers for 60 bucks, and can be easily removed if you get a fix-it ticket (get ticket, take off tint, show the police, they take ticket back/reduce it, then you can put tint back on at no cost)

this is your best friend. there are some threads of people requesting different level tints so you can check out what they look like on other cars.

mine currently is 5% in the rear, 20% in the front. it looks pretty dang dark.
