I can get about 34 mpg on a road trip. I have an 00 I4 manual, and if im driving in a hilly area I always push in the clutch when going down hills and get as much coast as possible.

i tried push in the clutch when going down hill, but when later i felt my clutch was wearing out quicker, then i stopped doing it.
now i either leave it in gear, or shift to neutral

I can go ~500 miles or so before the light comes on. Some ways to improve it, air intake and air/fuel controller to push the air/fuel ratio more towards air but not too lean. Some of upgrades to your car will decrease your mpg, i.e. exhaust set ups, bigger rims/tires, and just adding more weight to the car with subs, amps, and even passengers.

i was gonna say wont that cause unnecessary clutch wear... when you could just pop it in neutral.
