I am going to look at a 99 SL V6 5sp, Ive been looking online for any problems that come up with these cars, like things to look for. I havent found much though.. Can anyone give me some advice? Thanks.

As long as there is some sort of maintenance history that the oil changes were made frequently and on time, you should be OK. The only issue to look for is signs of oil gelling (sludge), which should not be a problem if it was maintained.

WOW! Amazingly quick replys, thanks a lot! Alright, im going to get the car in the next couple days and throw it on the hoist and check all the usual stuff, hopefully it all checks out. Thanks again! Great site btw! hopefully il become a regular visitor haha.

Yeah Im killing some time browsing though the site and seeing the potential of these cars. This will be my first Toyota, I always stuck with honda for some reason, not sure why. But I want something with some more power and that looks nicer.

Thats kind of the impression that Im getting. Its a comfortable car too, and it looks great! The 5sp versions seem to be rare around here. This one has about 250k KM on it. (Canadian model)

although I have a camry with the same engine...I was at 200K miles before I needed a new motor due to too much boost.

if I had kept it stock, I have no doubt that it would have kept on running.

This is all great to hear! Im looking forward to this car more and more. Hopefully there's not any issues with it. I don't think there will be, its a friend of mines, and he has looked after it well.
