When I went to make a full U-turn I had turned my steering all the way to the left before hitting the accelerator. I felt a "thumping" almost like fluid being pumped through a pipe. What is that? Is my power steering having a problem or does that typically happen when the steering is turned all the way to one side.........it only lasted a few seconds.

If you were turning the wheel without the car moving at all....that might give you strange noises. Dont dry steer....its bad for the car, and tires.
