Need Opinions........Motor Swap in Sc300
Well to start off i know this is random.....and mods forgive me for posting this here (Didnt really know where else to put it). But i am trying to research and get as much information as i can.
Anyways, for those who didnt know, my Solara is all fixed up as far as the clutch goes and parts in the tranny. I am looking to sell the solara either privately or dropping it in the auction (Last resort). And i have my eyes on an Sc300 with 5 speed manual tranny. I am looking to buy this car for cheap and of course doing what many others have done..........swapping in either a 2jz or a 1jz.
I have done some research and i know even though the Sc300 comes stock with a 2jz-GE the 2jz-GTE isn't truly a straight drop in. i believe the biggest problems are within wiring to the ecu. I do have a diagram i can get my hands on, however, i also found out that the 1jz might be a straight drop-in (Soarer) besides just extending the engine harness about 20".
So please feel free to leave comments and any information you might have. And having an NA-T Sc300 is kind of a last resort thing too. (Too much trouble to find an sc300 with good miles and a good price) THANKS IN ADVANCE!!
