Well this weekend, my check engine light came on. I used the OBD-II to retrieve the code and it turns out it was an O2 sensor malfunction (twice). Not a big deal... the locals dont have in stock so I have to order it. Then on the way home today I noticed that the backlights on the gauges and the auto temp controls were flickering a bit. I stopped at a store, and when I got back in and started the car, the ABS light stayed on, and the Trac Off light was flashing.... Any ideas on this one??? I havnt been able to run the OBD-II again since this just happened about 20 minutes ago. I figured i'd keep the car parked until i replace the O2 sensor and the pull the battery to reset, then see if the ABS and Trac Off thing happens again... but in the mean time, has anyone else experienced this???? Thanks in advance.

The same thing happened to me.
My light came on (egr) and a week later the Trac Contol light came on.
This same thing happened about a year ago. And went off when the check engine problem was fixed.
Got Boost?? :sweet:

My Trac Control light is flashing and the ABS light is on. I'm about to replace the O2 sensor that caused the check engine light so after I replace that I'm going to pull the battery and reconnect to reset and then see if the ABS light and Trac Control light problem reappear. Thanks for the reply.

Well i've got new symptoms... This morning, i was pulling out of the garage, and the trac and abs lights were off and everything was fine. Well a few minutes into the drive, the flickering kindof came back and the CD Player even turned off and on a couple of times. I'm thinking there is a loose wire or connection that connects all the dash lights, stereo, ABS, and the Traction control. Has anyone had a loose connection there or does anyone have any suggestions as to where to look for a loose connection? Thanks.

I'm not sure if I should suggest this, but no problems with battery or alternator?

No its not the entire car that is doing it... just the one circuit. Its very strange. I'll be changing out the O2 tonight since it just came in and then i'm going to see if i can start tracing down the other problem.

Alright... hope it turns out ok. Wonder if anybody has an electrical wiring diagram for you to see (if that doesn't work out). Now that I think about it, I remember a time when my car (less than a year old) brought up the ABS, trac and another light at the same time. I also remember the car went sluggish, but it never came back.

Well i just changed the Oxygen sensor against the firewall and cleared the computer. I started it up and took it around the block a couple times and so far so good. I guess I'll know for sure if the ABS/Trac Light flickering problem has been solved within a couple days of driving. So far everything seems to be fixed though :)

I rode it kinda hard to work today and on lunch making sure to hit every bump i could to see if whatever may have been loose before would show its ugly mug again... and nothing. I guess changing that sensor killed 2 birds lol
