The most likely solution might have been that you didn't hook the steel rod to the lock switch properly. Does it still lock by other means (e.g. the key or power lock button)? If it does, most likely that's all that it is. If not, a professional might be your better bet.
the other one was broken so I changed it,(the inside handle) and no it dont lock by the key or power lock button,

i have to check again if it is that i didnt hook the steel rod to the switch cuz i do it and it doesnt work...
