Traction Control Unit

Well yet another check engine light came on (3rd one since we've owner the car 7 months). So we took it in to the mechanic and he replaced the Traction Control Unit. Is this the same thing as the ECU? Or is it separate? Just wondering.

Thanks

I was under the impression that the traction control had a separate idiot light to tell you it was malfunctioning, much like the ABS.

I would ask the mechanic for the code that the car threw... You can get them checked at many autoparts stores for free so you have an idea of what might be wrong.
