okay finally the shop finished installing my clutch and my timing belt. so they started the car and it is missfiring like crazy, and it turns off.

any ideas why it can missfire? and the cel is not on.

also the clutch its very light for some reaseone.

- i thought that stage II clutch should be much harder on the pedal then the oem one.

please anyone who might think what can be wrong or who ever has a stage II on their car let me know how yours is.

I have a (Fidenza Fly wheel) & (SPEC stage II Clutch)

-Thanks for your help.

when you did the timing belt did you have it at top dead center? did you get the belt on correctly? make sure that the timing isn't messed up

Sounds like they are off a tooth on the cam gear. (Meaning the cam was slightly rotated during the belt install. The cylinders are firing with the valve partially open.)

They will need to remove the belt, reindex the cams back into the proper position then reinstall the belt.

Big FUBAR.

It's not the clutch. However, if they can F'up a timing belt, perhaps the clutch has some issue that you haven't seen yet. LOL

Wow...big sh1t. You pay pros to let them make it correctly but they don't seems serious ! Hope it didn't make anything wrong to your engine yet. Timing is one serious issue regarding an engine.

what everybody else is saying...

as for the clutch feeling light...it's not supposed to feel any heavier than the stock clutch, per se...it just has a lower engagement point

Definitely got the timing f'd up. Be glad you don't have a 3MZ-FE, those are interference engines and if the timing's off or the belt snaps completely, the valves basically crash into the cylinder head causing permanent engine damage. :o

you need to find another shop, mechanics with common sense would have fixed it as soon as they saw/heard a problem. It's obviously misfiring due to their crappy work

the 3MZ has a timing chain though right? so it should never ever snap.

if they f up my engine, i will sue the shop. they should be responsible for the car.

My clutch also felt a bit light after changing it. It should get slightly stiffer once it breaks in.

nothing wrong with a shop messing up the timing belt change...our timing belts aren't the easiest in the world to change.....but I'd be worried if they didn't realize that it was the timing belt after they started the car though...
