Oil filter 90915-YZZD3 for V6 solara possible?

I was in the 4runner forum the other day and some people there were using the 4runner V8 oil filter for their current generation V6 engines (part #: 90915-YZZD3). This filter is an inch longer than the OEM V6 oil filter and has the same thread size. So it may provide more room for oil filteration.

Since the 4runner V6 engine's oil filter is the same as the V6 solara, I wonder whether anyone here has ever used it before (Not sure if it would fit in our cars though).

Well if you say the thread is the same size and our oil filter is the same as a v6 4Runner then as long as its not wider, it should be ok. I think there should be plenty of room to come out another inch. Just make sure the gasket seals on that machined surface on the engine block.
