Since I'm changing my brake pads and my car is almost 120K. I'm thinking about a light tune up, but looking for the cost, and I don't want to get fooled by a mechanic. Can you guys help me out?


Tune up on a V6 1999 Manual Solara:

Oil Change
Brake Pads
Spark Plugs
Maybe Transmission and brake fluid
Replace Coolant

Basicially a 120K tune up reccomened by toyota owner's manual

DIY Costs:

oil - $17
Pads (all corners) - $100-120 Toyota OEM
Rotors (all corners) - $150 Brembo Blanks
Transmission flush - $100 (depending on what you need, if youve already got a flush before then you just have to drain and refil 3.5qts. If not your gonna have to take it in to get serviced)
Spark Plugs - $35-40 Denso Double Platinum or NGK (ebay)
Coolant - $15 (two jugs of Prestone Orange) tutorial section.

drive belts and timing belt replacement are important...
ALL*TRD*...Revos,FSTB,RSB,Muffler+FSB.

yea definitely. Timing belt should be replaced at about 100k, also replace your water pump.

waterpump and timing belt already done. I live in San Francisco, but go to school in Santa Barbara. so if i do all that, roughly 600-700?
