Black Plastic Piece Under Front Bumper

Black Plastic Piece Under Front Bumper

Postby TRAFFICBLOWS » Mon Sep 17, 2007 10:23 am

I guess it hit those small concrete barriers too many times in parking lots because the black plastic piece under the front bumper is now hanging half off. The plastic is cracked by a few screws and it's such cheap plastic I don't feel it is worth repairing. I guess 9 yrs of ownership is pretty good before this happened.

Anybody know how to replace it? And what the real name for the piece is?

You can buy it new from a Toyota Dealer or you can go get the pieces you need from a junk yard. Not having the plastic is not going to hurt anything.... I would just leave it off.

If you're talkin' about the middle piece it does nothin' but somewhat keep water out from comin' up from the bottom of the engine bay.
Mine didn't come one, but i was thinkin' of makin' myself one.....

That guard is a air deflector to deflect more air up into the radiator.

It starts right under the radiator and ends about quarter of the way of the openin' under the engine.

Or are you talkin' about the little black plastic piece in front of the A/C condensor??

ah okay no i was talking about right under the radiator. i have that, but hte screw on the passengerside fell out so now when i drive i had a lil part of the piece sticking lower to t he ground, held it up just now with a lil bit a 3m tape as a temp solution til a get a screw to put it in.
