installing new spark plugs

I was told that the spark plugs are in front and in the back of the engine bay. Do i need to remove the engine or a speical tool to change the back 3 spark plugs? I heard its really hard. Is it better if i just go to the automaechanic shop and let them do it?

What do you think the estimate is for a v6 1999 solara?

I don't think so.
A ratchet, extension and sparkplug socket can do the trick.
If you are a novice...take it in.
If you feel you can do it, go for it! I'm sure you can.
Go buy yourself a Haynes manual on your car and read all about it.
Don't be intimidated by it.

DIY!

I have done it twice. All it takes is the right tools, patience and figuring out the best angle to come at it.

May I also suggest you use a spark plug socket with the little rubber ring inside it. Makes extracting the old plug out of the deep holes a lot easier. I also used two small socket wrench extensions instead of one big one. Stick the new plug in the socket with the extension, lower that into the hole, finger tighten, THEN attach the ratchet and snug it down (not too much). Don't forget to anti-sieze the threads and put dielectric grease on the plug contacts.

Now that I am going to remove. I want to dress it up a bit. If you do all that why not and then clean everything

I think that it'd still be possible to do it with the blower on...presuming that you were one of the people who had done it without the blower before and with the stock intake plenum on before.

in the case of the gen3, replacing the stock intake plenum with the blower actually leaves MORE room between the firewall and the engine....I'm guessing that the stock intake on the gen3 1mzfe is longer than the gen4 ones
