clutch problem?

when i shift into 4th and im in a high rpm it kinda grinds as it goes into gear, like if you were to try and stick it into gear with out the clutch in, but its only as its going into gear it grinds alittle bit. if anyone knows whats causing that it would be great. Also my dash doesnt light up, just behind the speedometer and gagues and what not. the seat belt, air bag, break lights still light up along the bottom. is this just a burnt out bulb, if so it it somthing that can be easily done by my self.

Hmm... the dash light problem I think is pretty easy to do, I think there is a bulb back there, behind the cluster, I think there was a tutorial about removing the cluster on here somewhere. Just take the bulb out and go to Advance and have them give you a replacement. About the clutch problem. Hard to say, Maybe a dieing clutch seeing as its a 99, or its placed wrong.

Does it actually grind (as in makes a real grinding noise and the shifter shakes) or does it just require a little more effort to put into gear?

Grinding = worn synchros
Effort = normal

Are you talking about going into 4th from 3rd or from a downshift?
