Hazard/Turn Signals not working

Hazard/Turn Signals not working

Postby Omes01SLE » Tue Jul 03, 2007 12:57 pm

Don't know what happened, but all of a sudden the turn signals (both left and right) as well as the hazzards are not working. The lights are working, they are just not "blinking".

I've checked all the fuses and they are fine. I'm thinking it's a relay, but have checked the one in the engine comp. and it is also fine. HELP!
It's a 2001 btw.
thx

Ok - I've narrowed the problem down to the Turn Signal/Hazard flasher. It's apparently behind the interior fuse panel - has anybody had to remove this before? do you know what it looks like (there are a lot of little black fuses back there)
thx

If you cant find a blown fuse, have you done any work on the car where you had to remove the center dash trim? (i.e. radio installation, clock mod, wiring) I forgot to plug the hazard button back into its harness when I was finishing up my headunit install. This caused all my corner lights to malfunction.

+1

check the plug for emergency signal button behind the vent cover.

^Well, in this case it doesn't lie with the fluid itself, but actually the fluid pump that's stuck and ineffective, kinda like how your car might react if the water pump failed.

lmao.

ok dude I had this problem a couple months back.
go to the dead pedal (next to the brake pedal on the left)

and stick your head under the dash and loook .. you'll see a small series of fuses. take out the one that says "flasher" not "relay" you'll be all set.
go to a store like advance auto parts. It costed me i think 7-11 dollars..

dont go to the dealership they will charge you for both the flasher and the relay, one being 40 bucks, other being 60. so you're looking at 100+ dollars for something you can easily fix for at the most 11 bucks.

good luck.
