Postby Chinky420 » Mon Jun 11, 2007 6:16 pm

ok, so i have had my emergency brake light (under the speedometer)illuminated for the past month or so. the car drievs and runs fine, but that dang light won't turn off.

anyone know what it is indicative of? maybe i need to change my rear brake pads?

please post if you know anything on the matter.

thanks,
~kwan

Could be that your break pads are low OR that your break fluid is low...

Top off your "brake" fluid.

I had the same problem about a year ago. I added about a tablespoon of brake fluid and it fixed the problem. I fairly certain if you top off your brake fluid, that should fix your problem.

sweet, thx guys, i'll top off the fluid as the first order of business...

i'm hesitant to think it's the brake pads, since i just replaced the front pads/rotors, and the rear pads are only to keep the vehicle stationary (and occassionally to do an e-brake turn). but IF the rear pads were the case, i woulda heard some grinding when sliding around the corners....not that i slide around corners often. just often enough to get my jollies off e'ry now and again.
