Window Regulator = bolluxed

The window regulator cable snapped in my drivers side with the window halfway down. Ordered a new regulator, but can't for the life of me get the window all the way back up to just keep the weather out whilst the part ships.

Anyone know what how I can manually get the window to roll up and stay up with a busted regulator?

It happened to me a few months ago, they had to remove the door panel, take out the regulator, and prop the window all the way with some 2X4's. I lasted like this for about a week til the regulator came in.

And you forgot to introduce yourself..........

+1.
rule: dont bring it to the dealer. they'll take their time just to charge you with more labor fees. my sister had that issue with her old car, dealership charged her 600 dollars. just for one window regulator/labor. and took them 4 hours to do it...

stupid.

New regulator alone ran me $106 after taxes.

Oh, and sorry about not making introduction latindragon, I'll do that now. I was kinda in a rush about this window closing thing. It's supposed to thunderstorm later on.

Thanks for the tip! :D

Well with my regulator, it happened to give out while I was at the carwash. So I blamed it on them, got into a big argument. Eventually, so they wouldn't lose a long time customer like me (even though they have) they paid half of the amount to fix it. Took it to a local auto customizing shop. The actual regulator from Toyota was like 120 bucks and he round it off to $200 to install it. So it cost me 100, after seeing them put it in.........I say put it in yourself.

Any one had their window motor siezed up?
My driver side window is working, it strugles when it go up and down.
Window motor and regulator was $400 CDN parts only.
If regulator is problem for mine, I want to fix it,,, regulator price sounds fair.
