well 2 nights ago weather was crappy and took out the solara .... big mistake cold air intake and it rained like crazy car shut off 2 -3 times...

and then i got it going then last night and the wheel pretty much fell off, when driving....

so i took the tire off and see that the rotor is completely rusted over and the studs broke off...

so now i think is time to either sell the jerk.... or put it in the garage and get it on car stands and work on the whole thing body and all!

Not sure I understand the title of this post...

Sorry for your misfortune, but how do you get so much rust in Texas?

this would be Dats old car right?
where many hate, few will love,
But for those who love,
they'll see what it's like to live.

Wait a sec...

I live in Texas and I don't have any rust. I don't understand how you are getting so much corrosion on your car.

WTF? I don't think you hydrolocked. Did you submerge the front end in water to a level higher than the air filter? If you did, then doom on you and you deserve it. There's no excuse to be out driving through high standing water in a lowered peformance car.

Broken studs are typically not corrosion. They usually break when extra long studs are used in combination with wheel spacers. The other possibility is if the owner did not properly torque the lugs.

Dat's old car was modified quite a bit. To come crashing down on it like Toyota's quality sucks or he put on inferior parts is plain stupid. Welcome to the world of driving a modified car. You need to suck it up and expect to be harder on parts now. Try not to trash years of his hard work because you don't check the oil.

Thus endith thy sermon.

Rotors rust guys if you live in any of the Snowbelt states. Even states with rain etc. You can get them plated and it will help on the appearance if you prefer.

It should not effect the integrity especially from a 99 and up car. I could maybe see it in 20 years of driving but even then i have changed rotors etc without a integrity problem.
