quick wheel question

quick wheel question

Postby offroadinfrontier » Thu May 31, 2007 10:49 pm

not necessarily gen 1 specific i guess, but a quick question on wheel sizes (i don't really understand the measurements):

can a 205/60-16 tire fit on a rim that currently has a 195/60-16 tire on it? i know the 205 tire can fit on rims betw. 5.5-7.5, which should be in range of the rims the smaller tires are on, but i dont know the exact size of the smaller rims (or what the 205/195 are measuring). thanks!

quick answer: yes

be sure to do both fronts or both rears or all four
do not just change ONE single tire with a different size and/or brand for that matter

What smaller size are you going to? The stock 16s are already small

convert your tire width in inches

25.4 is the magic number to convert mm to inch.
To make it even more clear : 25.4mm = 1 inch

205mm / 25.4 = 8.07 inches then you can see if your rim is wide enough or not.
