Well I went to the dealer today and asked about this. No one had any idea, they had never heard anything like this. I figure it has something to do with calibrating something. So the dealer and techs don't know about it, but maybe the guys that assemble the cars do.

this is simaler to what some friends of mine have been telling me.

As best as I can tell there are only 20 functions. If they are realy functions?

Does any one know how to confirm any of this. It seems like it might be helpfull.

Ok I found out to day That GTIs can get into 21 functions like the BMW throgh the AC controls. It doesn't help us much but it is something.

You guys think a code reader would help with any of this?

I had a thuoght about this thing today. I know Toyota sets up cars depending on region they are being sold in. You think this number might be optimal settings for differnt locals?

loll well.. i tried it on my cousin's solara today (she left it here for about a month and a half) and i didn't get it AND the car isn't starting! she had troubles before and kept having to get jump started. I think she got it tested and said bad battery. Oh well.. I'll jumpstart it tomorrow =[

is it totaly dead? you should be able to do it in a car even if it wont start

car off hold odo while you turn the car to acc on, keep holding it for 10 seconds release and press it again.
