Checking now, thanks for all your replies fellas. I just got the car towed to my mother's house, my brother will be able to get a mechanic to look it over. But I suggested to him that if he's up to it, he can remove the starter and get it bench tested first.

Update:

After work, I braved the cold (21F burr) and walked to the local Autozone. Remanufactured Duralast Starter came out to $274 (w/o core)., with a refund of $90 if I bring the old one. Wasn't really in the mood for window shopping in this weather with 30mph winds. So I bought it.

Took a bus to my mother's (where my car was towed). Since I couldn't take any days off, my brothers said they would handle it. Never happened, car got ticketed ($54) for street cleaning. It ended up being taken care of by my father's personal mechanic. Even though I told my father that the starter was in the trunk. He forgot to tell the mechanic. :) So the mechanic installed a used starter from a Camry with 20K miles that was totaled. He charged my father $160 all together

Which in the end, works out great since I get to return the starter I never used ($274 back in my pocket). And I'm selling the car soon to help with the down payment on my M45.

Once again, thanks SG fam for steering me in the right direction. Bless you all and Happy New Year :drinking:
