i sanded all the chrome off hit it with 4 coats of primer, and then with three coats of glossy plastic paint and its been good for about a year now.

omg, i was getting ready to repaint it, but when i was stripping the paint out of the chrome parts of the grille, some stripper go on the center, black vertical part of it. it looks like there is a layer of chrome paint on it....... dammit! i thought it was a completely material made of rubber or something..... now im going to have strip all of that paint off now... im going to attempt to repaint it chrome with some duralast chrome finish spray paint, but before i do, can someone show me how a black grille will look on a red solara?

I sanded all the chrome crap off and resprayed it with gloss black and kept the emblem chrome. I like it more then with the chrome grille.

^^^ Everyone wanted to make it cheaper so no more really chrome unless your putting out for it. I couldnt beleive it when I saw the price tag for all the exterior chrome moldings for my dads 57 chevy..
