ok ill clarify..

when you see 35% tint that is the light being allowed IN.. so its reverse logic.. think of it as 65% of the light being blocked and so on

so 5% is allowing 5% of the light or 95% blocked.. aka the DARKEST

in california there is really no tint for the front windows and windshield as i said the mercedes blue is as dark as your going to LEGALLY GET..

the rear glass however can be blacked out.. all of them...in other words 0% however this requires a passenger side mirror..

Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 4 inches of the windshield.
Front Side Windows Must allow more than 70% of light in.
Back Side Windows Any darkness can be used.
Rear Window Any darkness can be used.
