The only brand my dad wouldn't recommend is the FRAM oil filter, don't know why. :-?

Ive been using Bosch oil filters on my car and never had an issue. Just recently I switched to K&N. I never really thought about oil filters too much. Now you guys got me curious.

I replaced my oil, oil filter, and transmission fluid and filter a month ago and I just bought the TRD filter. I use Mobil 1 with it if that makes any difference. I figure anything with that name on it has to amount to something good. Ive had no problems with it.

Don’t they all do the same thing? What kind of problem could you really have. It could either clog of just not filter well. I think we all are using different kinds but it doesn’t seem that anyone has had any issues. I wouldn’t recommend a Fram or any others that use cardboard on the inside, but I don’t think you will see much of a difference between filters. If I’m wrong let me know.

There is not a difference because even though there are many name brands there are only 3 or 4 companies that make oil filters. FOr instance the mobile one and the k&n filter have one difference or really two actually they are both made by champpion labs and the difference is one has a nut welded on the back and its a different color. Thats it folks lol

Toyota, pure and simple. My mechanic once told me he was helping a guy rebuild an engine and they kept blowing off the oil filter from pressure and when they switched to a Toyota it didn't blow off, it bulged but didn't come off. He's never used anything else since.

they basically charge you so that you can screw it in with a wrench.....instead of your bare hands.

Wait...

Is it the K&N air filters or the oil filters that have the million mile warranty? I might have a bit of a problem on my hands if it isn't the oil filter

Change that oil filter QUICK!!! The warranty is on the air filter, because you can clean it and re-oil it.
BTW what's the oil look like??

I was kidding. Hence my "lol" face. I have been using the K&N oil filters but I have been changing them every 3000 miles, not every 1,000,000.
