Newly Supercharged

Postby SpeedySolara » Tue Aug 26, 2008 10:24 am

I think I may have heard a little ping during idle but then again I was under a tree and it simply could've been an acorn. I truly hope I dont blow my engine cuz that would be a problem. I have yet to go to Toyota to get my car tuned. So far I went to Auto Zone and I have about 12 codes. Eight codes are cylinder misfire related, two are system 2 lean bank 1 & 2, I think a knock sensor, and one is for my O2 sensor. I put in 3 boost bottles and the rest 93 so it runs a bit better but it still fluctuates RPMs.

yikes thats a lotta codes. best of luck. the s/c really is a simple install and shouldnt cause those problems. Maybe quadrouple check the hoses and to simplify things, do the old hose scheme where it bypasses the EBC

The codes are P0300 - P0306, and some other ones in the 300's. I don't have any other mods (engine related) besides the supercharger. So yeah, all those codes are kind of freaking me out. Whats the system lean mean?

if the problem persists you might try bigger injectors, fuel pump etc.

I'm taking it to the dealership on Friday. Do you think they'll charge me an arm and a leg to correct the issue? More importantly, is this something I could fix?

i'd say check the boost arm actuator thing. I've read that some people's s/c came bent, siezed, etc etc which leads to problems like that. Make sure its smooth in motion and is getting enough vacuume/pressure to operate; again leading to the hose setup

Hey King you think it sounds like mines ...lol

I was throwing those cylinder misfire codes and lean bank 2 aswell ....

Speedy have you tried TB or Carb cleaner spray around the engine bay and see if the revs goes up if so u might have a def vacum leak ....

Facevedo17, how did you fix the codes and was it expensive? Right now I'm SH!TT!NG bricks  but I'm also kind of pissed. I don't have any sort of exhaust or tuning modifications, just the supercharger and everything is OEM. Please let me know what you did to correct the issue. Thank you.

You can tackle it different ways . your only mod was the SC ..no fuel pump..? did you change your spark plugs ...? and if all is stock I would look into a vaccum leak somewhere

In my case I don't know yet because I haven't really fixed anything yet .. But then again I have Jim fuel filter ,lines upgrade, fuel pump, and safcII , Injen CAI/Ext , Y pipe and custom exhaust with a leak somewhere ....therefore I have to look at all those different things.

In ur case and sounds like its strictly Vaccum recheck them hoses .....Im still new at this aswell. When I met up with the guys in the rockland meet they gave me some good tips and what can be causing my rough idling too..

As far as correcting the codes they vary ...for me when scanning the car it will give me like 12 codes and sometimes 3 or 4 and thats what I get now usually haven't scanned it in a while now
