The only true way to know if u have sludge is to take off both valve covers (if ur a v6).

Should engine flush be used right before draining oil? And what about high mileage oils instead of synthetic? I have 151k on mine.

There's high mileage full synthetic oils. I think peeps here recommend Mobil 1, but I think I'll be alright with what I got. :wink:

I do the 5k mile changes with Toyota ZZF1 filter... no problems whatsoever.

I just changed mine at 4000.
167,000 miles
was looking pretty dark.
I use Mobil 1 full synth and Lucas Full synth stablizer(black label bottle)
