Well when your in rush hour stop and go traffic 3-5 MPH it really sucks to have to come to a complete stop just to select first gear. I know the V6 has enough torque to pull from second gear I just don't like to.

Every other car I have owned you can move the shifter into first even while going about 15 mph you just wouldn't want to let the clutch out and engage it at that speed. I guess Toyota wanted to lock out first gear on the down side.
