I think this was a dead thread, but since it's revived I'll add my input...

First off, it's completely normal and natural to get a bit of surface rust on your rotors, however it should never be enough to worry about (come on, it's standard maintenance)... I, as well, am confused as to how you got so much rust in TX though...

As for your lugs... they didn't rust through... no way, no how... It sounds like someone overtorqued them and killed the tensile strength... You should NEVER torque over around 75lb-ft... There's really no need for it, and the lugs aren't intended to stretch like that... Once you do it ONE TIME, consider them substantially weakened... Also, I don't know what you mean by your wheel "falling off"... I've driven several THOUSAND miles while missing a lug nut and it made NO difference on a 5 lug wheel... While I don't advise that, it should never even feel loose, let alone "fall off"... This once again points toward abuse...

Finally, how the hell DID you hydrolock your car????
