Refinishing stock wheels on an 02

It would be nice to put 17" or 18" aftermarket wheels on the car, but I don't want the expense of the wheels/tires plus the new struts to lower the car. Apparently the stock ride height doesn't look good with larger rims & lower profile tires.

The stock wheels look good right after being cleaned, but it doesn't take long before they look dingy. Guessing that the wheels are clear coated and if so, would having them stripped and clear coated again dramatically improve their looks?

has anyone done this to the factory wheels and if so, how much per wheel did it cost?

dude Plasti Dip them. I looks cool and if you get tired of it you can remove the coating.
