i bought my 02 used and it didnt come with the remote either. i bought 2 off ebay and programmed them to the car. to check if you car has the factory system... close and lock the doors with the windows down, wait a few minutes (not sure if the wait is necessary or for how long but a few minutes should be fine) and then reach through the open window and flip the door lock to "unlock" on the inside door panel. alarm should sound. for more info on this topic and how to program the remotes to your car, use the "Search" function of this website, this will help keep repeat questions to a minimum.
