Transponder Key + Sea Water
I have a 1999 Solara and for the pass few years I've been storing my key in my pocket while surfing. I heard that Toyota Solara keys have computer chips in the key which reads a code when the car starts. But of course if there is water damage, the key wouldn't function. Since I've been surfing with my key in my pocket...technically...wouldn't the car not recognize the key? However, the car cranks fine every time.
So do all 1999 Toyota Solara's have transponder keys?
