i had a 88 f150 and when the master cylinder was going out the symptom i got was the brake pedal would slowly slip to the floor, the truck would still stop, but even sitting at a stoplight with constant pressure on the brake, the pedal would slowly go down. i had to let off the brake and hit it again to kind of pump it back up and then it would slowly go down again.
