Good ground location / Remove backseat

Good ground location / Remove backseat

Postby vSolara » Mon Mar 29, 2010 8:03 pm

Today I did the wiring for a new subwoofer. I was able to run the main power, RCA and remote wire. But I can't find a good grounding location. I've read about the seat belt bolts, but I can't seem to get the bottom of the back seat off. How do I pull on it to get it off? Or, is there another location?

Thank you!

Just grab the bottom cushion (the part you sit on) and pull up hard. Not much more to it than that...

The best ground is into the frame rail somewhere in the trunk (assuming you don't run copper...). If you don't have a really high powered system you can use just about any place in the trunk. I used a thicker part of the rear seat brace behind the plastic cover.

I went ghetto and used one of the holes under the rear speakers inside the trunk.

I just screwed it onto the metal behind the back seat, works like a charm.
