NOOOOOOOO!!!!!! :o

DO NOT USE A HEAT GUN!!!!
Use a hair dryer.

If you use a heat gun you will fuk up the paint royally!
I almost made that same mistake.

Lucky for me I had my fellow SGers telling me not to use a heat gun! :D

I repeat:

DO NOT USE A HEAT GUN!!!
Use a hair dryer.

....dynamite works good....

....so does a sledgehammer....

....just don't expect your car to run exactly the same afterwards

j/k

for me i used goo gone and fishing line. heat helps (i did mine in the summer in texas, so no heat-gun/hairdryer for me, the sun worked well enough)

there'll be some residual adhesive stuck on the body...just use your finger to roll it into a ball and to roll it off the car.

i just used a hair dryer on the emblem for a minute, used fishing line to take it off, then some scratch remover stuff to get off the crap it left behind. elbow grease is required for it

Just for further reference to the discussion.

I used 'WAX FLOSS", its softer, I broke numerous strands but it didn't scratch at all. I took off all emblems & then used some goo gone to remove the remaining sticky substance. Then washed the car (mainly getting the goo gone off).

I still have the emblems...hoping to put the 2 V6 ones on the MR2 one day ;)

so i removed them, and there's a little shadow where the emblem used to be. does it eventually fade over time?

My emblems are now gone from the rear of the car, looks much cleaner, i also have the slight "shadow" or "tan line" where the emblems were, ill have to try some scratch remover and paint cleaner and hopefully it works for me as well.
Just for general info... to get mine off i used a hair dryer to heat up emblem, fishing line to "floss" behind the emblem, and then most of the left over glue i simply rolled off with my finger, and what glue was left i used bug and tar remover (made by turtle wax) and it worked very well, (i had also tried goo gone but the bug and tar remover worked much better) now i just have the very slight shadow of the emblem left as mentioned above, its very hard to see though.
