resetting alarm

resetting alarm

Postby mettler » Sat Dec 12, 2009 9:57 am

I had my car broken into by smashing out my driver's side window. I had the window replaced, but the alarm doesn't work. Is there something I need to do?
Also, the blinkers don't work. I checked the fuse, of course the radio fuse is blown, but the turn signal fuse looked good. I am going to replace it anyway. It isnt tied into the radio in anyway is it?

thanks

I suggest checking ALL the fuses in the car. Don't just check the ones that look like their related to your problem.

I checked all the fuses and even replaced the TURN and RADIO one. Does a radio have to be installed for the blinkers to work? I was thinking about unplugging the battery for the rest of the day while I am at work. I am not sure if the blinkers run on some sort of computer controlled relay that might need to be reset. I am not going to have to enter some code to get the car to start if I do that am I?

thanks

Got it..in the process of stealing my car stereo the assholes disconnected my hazard light button from the circuit, thus making the turn signals/hazard lights circuit not complete...at least I got my blinkers.
