two wires in front of radiator?

two wires in front of radiator?

Postby 02slera » Tue Oct 20, 2009 8:39 pm

ok im new just bought my car used, ive noticed there are two wires in front of the radiator that are cut and left hanging, there is a connector going to part of the ac system right next to it (where the view window is for the ac coolant) so if anyone can tell me what these two wires are supposed to go to i would really appreciate it. btw its a 2002 sle and ive noticed that when i press the button on my climate controls to see the "outside temp" it comes up with -- so im thinking this is where that sensor belongs? also the car doesnt beep with i lock it (keyless entry) and when i used the procedure in the owners manual to make it beep it wont do it, only lights will flash, so maybe something to do with that? sorry for the long post.

so it doesnt go to anything on your car? does your car have the digital climate controls with outdoor temp sensor or is it manual controls? cuz im thinking it goes to the outdoor temp sensor but i dont know enough about the car. mine was wrecked at one time and they did an "ok" job of putting her back together. but the wires have been cut on my car and there is no connector at all

I had the same question a long time ago. There is a black thing size of a pen cap. It is the temperature sensor.

Mine is a SE V6, i think the SLE V6's came wit the digital climate control??
So i think the guy that fixed my car used an SLE V6 harness, they even janky'ed up some of the connections.
Now i'm in the process of puttin' back some OEM parts that were missin' on my car. :-?

I would suggest cappin' off the wires.
You really don't need to know what the outside temperature is. lol.
You can check the weather for that. :P
