Window sills faded

Window sills faded

Postby knightbird123 » Fri Aug 14, 2009 3:16 pm

The rubber window sills on my driver and passenger door are completely faded out. They make the car look like crap.

Is it a difficult job to install new ones?

Can someone help tell me how to install them....

Nope. Peel back the weatherstripping n there should be some screws behind it. If I remember right, that's all it takes...

if you're talking about the ones on the door and not on the body of the car then no you can not replace them without removing the panels. but that is pretty easy to do with a screw driver and a little force.

oh btw, just a cool thing was when i had mine replaced, toyota initially refused to fix it for some reason, there was a big air leak between the door and window in the corner, and all the trim needed replacing and adjusting. so we disputed like 2 thousand dollars (payed half cash, half credit for car) off the car, and thats when they fixed it, but they never said anything more about it after... so that problem made me two grand :)

Simple way to make any molding look and act like brand new.

Silicone. The spray will work but does not last. Silicone grease (Amazon.com) used in electrical and plumbing will rejuvenate the molding and it will LAST.

Wipe it on, rub it in and wipe off extra to use in another spot.
