Car: 2001 Solara SE 4 Cylinder AT
Has about 107,000 miles on it
I bought it about two months ago and it was fine then
but i've noticed recently, now that it has gotten a little colder that it won't grab the reverse gear
It works fine when i first start the car because the transmission is still cool
but once i run the car for a few minutes, and tranny is hot, it wont go into reverse.
i shift into reverse and step on the gas but it just revs like its on neutral
i recently got the tranny flushed, but the mechanic said its best i replace the transmission all together

i also noticed that the transmission heats up pretty fast to the regular running temp(in about a minute or two of regular driving)
if i changed the transmission oil cooler, do you think it would help
Fluid levels are fine..i dont know what else it could be
PLEASE let me know what i can do, bESIDES replacing the tranny
It sucks that i JUST bought the car and i already need to have major work done

thanks!!

At work, didn't really read :drinking: . Might be a defective solenoid or maladjusted cable somewhere.
