Aftermarket Cabin Air Filtration
Hi everyone, nice to be back here again
I've got a question - my searches are showing me that there's no in cabin air filtration for the 2000 Solara. That's fine, one less thing to sweat most of the time. However, I'm about to move to Los Angeles and from a story I read in the news a while back the level of pollution one breathes in sitting in traffic is way higher than elsewhere in the city, particularly in LA.
So I'm wondering if any of you have tried anything to filter the air in your filterless Solaras, what you're using and how it's going. I was thinking of putting in something under the seat, but I don't know where to start looking. Polluted air still comes in when not on recirc, but doesn't hang there. Plus it might help after a spicy dinner date since I can't just casually open a sunroof like I did on my last car
I'd like to do something with a foam or a paper filter - something real, not the "Sharper Image ionic breeze" BS that plugs in your cigarette lighter and 'attracts the dirt to metal.' "I think it's working, I just wipe off the dust, right?" - all those things do is cost money and power an LED light. Ask yourself this - beyond the light, how can you really tell if one of those stops working?
I want to change a filthy filter so I know the job is getting done.
Anyway, that's it - anyone have any creative solutions for breathing clean and easy in one of America's most polluted cities?
