EZ-LUBE FUCXED ME!!!!

EZ-LUBE FUCXED ME!!!!

Postby solarasweetie » Mon Oct 15, 2007 11:38 pm

Backstory: for those that don't know me. i have an '01 solara manual, 4cyl

Saturday I go to my mechanic to get an oil change. Too bad my freaking mechanic wasn't open so I went to the EZ-Lube across the way.

So the "mechanic" was calls me out and tells me that "you're almost hitting 100,000 miles, you need to keep up the maintenence. when was the last time you had a transmission service?"

Me: "Uhh....I.... don't know. "

"mechanic": "Well I really think that you need it. Blah blah.. bull sh*t bull Sh*t etc ettc......"

Me: "Yeah, yeah. okay fine. how longs this gonna take and whats it gonna cost me?"

"m": about $50 and 15 minutes.

Me: Okay, whatever, just get me the hell out of here, i need to get back to work.

So tell me why. While I drove to my boyfriend's on Sunday, my third gear started grinding.

And NO I didn't know that you don't need a transmission flush on a manual.

So, I thought I didn't push my clutch in all the way. So I go at it again, and it grinds again. And I'm thinking, WTF is going on. So I say fork it and don't even use my third gear.

AND THEN! ... i know. it gets worse. brace yourselves boys.

I needed gas on my way home... (sorry i know, im the worst story teller ever!) and i smell something burning... and i wasnt sure if it was me or not so i roll the windows down and let the car air out and pull the windows back up to see if it was me.

and yes, it was me. whatever was burning, was coming in through the vents.

so i pull over at a gas station, a brightly lit one at that. and i pop my hood, and sure enough, whatever bull sh*t bull sh*t it is, is burning. and im thinking WTF

welllllll..... (it goes on) turns out that it was transmission fluid. and EZ-Lube fu*cked me. and i seriously dont know what to do. im at a lost right now.

i dont know if i should get a diaganostic and get my facts together first.. or call the fu*kers at EZ-Lube.

i need help guys. im sad, and almost cried.

PS. MILT, dont get mad.

Go to your mechanic and THEN call the assholes at EZ Lube.

Or call Milt and have him go crazy at the EZ-Lube

EZ lube is responsible for all damages that were done to your car. you can take it to the dealer have them fix it and bill the ezlube you went to

Agreed

I agree with Mark, take it to a Toyota dealer, have them fix it and forward the bill to EZ-Lube. Don't let them touch your car again.

You have to discuss it with EZ Lube as soon as possible. The longer you wait the less likely they will pay.

I bet the dip sh*ts did one of 2 things

1) put ATF in your manual
2) put a different gear oil in the trans... "Their" gear oil

The burning is probably because they spilled sh*t everywhere when they put fluid back in...

Gear oil smells like Sh*t anyway, so I can't imagin it burning

Damn, I guess she missed the thread about those JiffyLube fuck3rs. So sorry to hear this happened.

But I agree with everyone else, report it to EZ-Lube asap and take the car in to a dealership to get fixed.

You aren't going to be able to take it to Toyota and get it fixed and just have them send the bill to EZ Lube. You will have to work that out ahead of time.

Toyota isn't going to repair your car without knowing who is going to pay for it.

My suggestion is to take it to EZ Lube, let them know what happened. Talk to a manager, then back up with a letter (sent certified, return receipt) to the regional or divisional HQ. Tell them that you don't trust them, based on what happened, and that you are taking the car to Toyota. You WANT them to reimburse you for any repairs.

Unfortunately, you need to get it taken care of right away, so you are probably going to have to fork out the money from your own pocket first.

I hope it all works out for you. Other than changing the oil yourself, your best bet is one of two things. What you do, have a trustworthy mechanic -or- take it to the dealer.

Next time, don't be so impatient, wait for your guy to be open.

Best of luck!

thanks guys. seriously, this is stressing me out so much. and i finally broke down today. i just feel like this is bullshet and it pisses me off.

i called the ez-lube today and they said that it was most likely somthing on their part and to get the car to them as soon as possible. problem is. how am i supposed to get it to them when i have school and work to attend?

im just stressed. i dont want to have to shell out money for a tow back to the place. its just so much crap.

and i guess im just pissed at myself for not just waiting for my guy.

at work, they have a attorney on retainer... and i'm going to see if i can have a talk with him about all this mess. i'll keep you updated.

thanks again for all the suggestions and help... and support. im a girl.... so i get dramatic, and i started to crack. :/

ps. HI MARK! long time no talk.

Don't stress. Just explain to them that you do not want to move the car any more. If they will pay the tow fee when the truck gets to the shop, then OK.

It's good that they will work with 'ya. These Lube shops don't hire the smartest people.

I recently took my RX8 to one and a guy there was arguing with me about what engine was in it. He insisted that it was a turbine engine and not a rotary. He said rotarys are part of the brake system. :o

(He was the guy sweeping, not working on the car.) The other employees were laughing with me so I let this idiot ramble on and I played like I was fascinated with his intelligence.
