Brake Problem Help

Well I ran into a full stop two days at a light when I heard a LOUD squeal noise when I was in motion of stopping, so I kept driving when I stopped at a red light there it went again. Its really starting to get in my last nerve.

So my best tought was that there had something to do with my brake pads been worn out, but doubted since I have only had em for 3 months. Well long story short, I took of the wheels and inspected the brake pads and brake shoes from the front but they're were stacked with my ceramic. So I went ahead and also took a look at the rear brake drums but no signs of problems.

Well would annybody know what can be wrong with my braking? since it still makes a LOUD squealing noise everytime Im about to stop. Any suggestions? Since my appointment with Brake Check its until Thursday.

long shot and maybe a wrong thing, but check brake lines?

Couple of things worth looking at…

1. Is everything properly lubricated?
2. Are they good quality pads / rotors?
3. Are the pads tight, or are they vibrating around?
4. Is everything clean?

These are some of the things I look at when I am trying to hunt down a brake noise. Hope this helps.

My brakes started squeeling 3 weeks after I got it my car. The pads were new.

I got the disc machined and the pads sanded, all this twice, the noise always comes back.

Conclusion, cheap pads, and i cant wait untill they are a litle worn out to change them. thats for my case anyways.

check your discs if they are scratched/rusted/dented and take a look at the face of the pads where they contact the discs. make sure to reinstall them well and good luck

maybe there isn't any grease between the shims and brake pad.

Well everything seem to be in good shape, but I was told by a friend of mine that it can probably have something to do with a clogged brake hose? not catchin enough fluid or theirs some sorta air inside the brake fluid pipes? dont really have no idea. Would you guys that could be it?

Usually, if the brake line is clogged or there is air in the lines you'll know it. When I got air in my lines a few years back it felt like there was little force to stop and the braking wasn't predictable. I would focus more on the pads and rotors.

Oh ok thanks well thats what I really tought after my lilttle researching I have been doing ,but I was going to actually switch the pads, front rotors, and rear drums to Brembo since I have read on old posts that they are really dependable.

Ransom,

When you installed your new pads did you use the blue 'anti squeel' goop on them? Did you break the glaze on your disks? Did you file or grind off the leading and trailing edges of the pad (some come from the supplier already angled).

Failure to do some or all those things can lead to one or more pads vibrating when you stop, all are easily fixed.

On the rear, drum brakes usually don't make noise unless the shoes are worn out. You might want to check though, just to be sure you don't have a part bouncing around that should be held by a spring or shoe clip.

Well to be honest with you Gadget the dealer where I bought it from switched the brakes did a tune up well I mean everything so they say. So im really guessing that this should of have been professionally done and I shouldnt be having this problems Im having soon enough right now.

But I have actually runned it around 10,000 miles since then and the front pads are stacked with ceramic and also the rear shoes since I took a look this weekend and I didnt really see anything wrong with the pads, rotors, drums and lines.

Theres one thing that might be off topic but who knows I noticed that sometimes I feel like a vibration on the car when im accelerating, so would you think that can PROBABLY relate to the braking problem?
