I know all about that. You first should be sure the transmission is plugged into the wiring harness. Internally there are 3 solenoids that can be replaced without removing the transmission but the valve body has to be removed

i took it to Toyota and they said i need a new trans without even looking at it so they are probably just trying to bend me over. so i took it to aamco and they said that all 3 solenoids need replaced for 550$$$ and that they couldnt just replace the 1. and that i might still have problems after that whoch would require a 2500$$$$$!!! stock rebuild

1st of all, you probably dodn't need all three solinoids. They can be tested outside the transmission, though I think 2 are sold as a set and 1 seperately. They don't all break at once, and it may just be a worn through wire.

2nd, AAMCO is well known to be screws. So don't do anything with them. Find someone who knows what they are doing and are not just glorified parts exchangers.
