Stuttering

My V6 Auto has been stuttering lately. Happens when I get off the expressway (traveling 60-80 mph for a while). When I slow down to about 20 mph the rmps drop and then bounce up and down. The car also jerks around quite a bit while at a stop. If I put in neutral and rev up high and then let it go, the stuttering will stop.
I know the EGR valve needs to be replaced but I don't think thats the problem. I've had this problem off and on for 5 years but this last year has been very bad.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, I'll pick up some carb cleaner today and try to clean it a bit...saw vid on youtube of a guy spraying through the intake manifold down into the IAC.

take the sensor off (2 Phillips screws, make sure you dont strip them)and spray it inside

Oh, ok. The guy in the vid said it would be difficult. I'll take a look for myself. Still haunt had a chance to work on it. Maybe tomorrow night iy looks like.

Um...yeah, the screws stripped despite you warning me not to do that. I tried... the first one came loose ok...but the second one stripped.
I did spray down into the oppening of the IAC from the intake manifold. hope it helps. I'll follow up and let you know if the problem persists.
I also unscrewed part of the EGR and notised some sand in whatever little plastic thing it was...so i cleaned that too.

^^ dont trip, thats what happedn to me. Carb cleaner didnt help my issue..

i just bought a used Tb with the sensors for replacement.
